Coach Jeff Poston Spends Time Counting His Blessings this Weekend

On 1/21/21 at 21:10 PM, Houston Poston and his wife, Cameo, gave birth to their first child, a baby boy named Denver.  (Side note: This baby is ADORABLE!!!) Of course, due to Covid, proud grandparents, Jeff and Julie Poston, were not allowed to visit with their first grandbaby until nearly two days later.  They say

Dade County Wrestling Match Cancelled Today

This evening’s matchup originally scheduled against Soddy Daisy, but later changed to Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe, has been canceled.  There is no wrestling match at DCHS tonight.  This weekend the wrestlers will host a sectional at DCHS at 1:00 PM.  Come support the Wolverines as they try to advance to the State Dual Championships on January

Dade County Area 7AA Duals Champions

Congratulations to the Dade County Wolverines Wrestling program for bringing home the 1st place trophy in the Area 7AA Duals today.  Originally, Chattooga was set to host the duals, however, they were moved mid-week to Model High School due to what else, COVID.  COVID has taken its toll on all winter sports programs, including wrestling

Wolverine Family, Hope all of you had a restful break and enjoyed your families!  Our winter sports programs have been on a little break of their own as athletic contests were canceled beginning the second week of December.  I KNOW they are ready to get back into the action of competing.  And I hope you


Wolverine Fans, Come check out our middle school and high school wrestling teams in action today at DCHS.  First of all, the middle school will take on Ringgold MS at 5:00.  Around 6:00, DCHS will wrestle the Forty Payne High School followed by Heritage High School.  Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students.  Temps

Congratulations Dakota Johnson!

So proud of Dakota Johnson. He recently signed a letter of intent to wrestle in college. This young man has only wrestled since the 7th grade and he is a 2-time state placer. Dakota is also this year’s champ in AA at 160lb. St. Andrews and Coach Soto, you are getting a good one!  #RelentlessPursuit

                                          Each day in May, Dade County High School would like to take the time to recognize a different senior who participated in spring sports.  Unfortunately, their seasons were cut very short due to COVID-19. 

Six Wrestlers Place at GHSA State Traditional Tournament

Congratulations to all six wrestlers who placed at the 2020 GHSA State Traditional Tournament Feb 13-15. The Wolverines traveled with nine wrestlers who qualified for state. Austin Sorelle (220) and Issac Pangle (195) both wrestled tough, but exited the tournament on day two. Both sophomores were making their first appearance at state. Senior Lane Wilson

Dade County Wrestlers Flex at GHSA State Traditional Tournament

Congratulations to the nine state qualifiers representing Dade County HS at the State Traditional Tournament in Macon, Georgia, this weekend.  Three wrestlers were knocked out of the tournament yesterday.  All three had great seasons and represented Dade County with class.  Senior Lane Wilson captured his 44th victory in the tournament this weekend.  Junior Eli Johnson
