Wolverines News · DCHS Esports Team Dominates Sequoyah HS in Rocket League

Coach Matt Sweat might have one of the coolest coaching gigs at Dade County High School.  If you’re a parent of a teenager, you know how much time the majority of teens spend on online gaming.  Esports is one of the fastest growing sports in the state.  It is a GHSA sanctioned sport, with standings, playoffs, and the crowning of a state champion.  Therefore, a teacher must be present and students must be eligible to play.  Matt Sweat is the sponsor for our students. Dade County has been amongst the top teams, advancing last year to the Elite 8.

Dade County is currently competing in the Rocket League.  Two teams of three players control cars in an arena for a game of soccer. Soccer with cars.  Sounds fun to me. Their opening game occurred last week versus Sequoyah HS, a game which Dade County students dominated winning all three games of the best-of-five series.  The three students involved were Pravihn Patel, Zayne Cuzzort, and Jared Batton.  Congratulations Coach Sweat and DCHS Esports on the victory!
