Jayda Wood, senior point guard for the Lady Wolverines, was selected as the Region 7AA Co-Player of the Year for the 2020-2021 basketball season. Jayda has had a stellar career at Dade County and has represented her school well. Her senior year didn’t end like she would want with the Lady Wolverines losing in the first round of the GHSA State Playoffs by a bucket for the second consecutive year. The girls finished 12-8 overall this year. They should hold their head high for the competitive energy they showed on the floor, whether it was a game or practice. When asked about her senior leader, Coach Logan stated, “Jayda Wood is a competitor and doesn’t know the word quit. I am proud of Jayda for all she has accomplished while playing in our program. She will do great things as the next level!”
Speaking of the next level, her final game ended up not feeling as sour as expected. Immediately after the first round playoff loss, Jayda Wood committed to Berry College where she will continue her basketball career. Congratulations Jayda! We are looking forward to watching you do great things! Thank you for your service and commitment to Dade County.
