Boys Varsity Baseball · Opening Home Baseball Game Postponed Today Due to Poor Field Conditions

Wolverine Fans,

Today’s opening home baseball doubleheader (Trion/NSM) has been postponed due to poor field conditions.  After the rain/sleet/snow from this week, the sun hasn’t been out enough to dry the field.  Safety of our athletes is our biggest concern when it comes to making these decisions.  Fortunately, there are several other opportunities to catch our baseball players in action next week.  It doesn’t feel like it outside just yet, but baseball season is here and Coach Chris Brown and his boys are anxious to get the season underway after only playing eight games last season.  Here is a rundown of what’s on deck for the upcoming week.

The Wolverines will be traveling away to North Jackson on Tuesday, Feb. 23rd.  That game will begin at 5:00.  The Chiefs play at Stevenson Park.  The JV will play that day as well.  On Thursday and Friday, the Wolverines will play back-to-back home games.  On Thursday, North Sand Mountain will visit Dade County with a 5:55pm start time.  On Friday, Fort Payne will visit with a 5:00pm start time.  JV will play on Friday as well.  Come out and enjoy a home baseball game or two next week.  Good luck and Go Wolverines!!
