Girls Varsity Volleyball · Girls Volleyball Improves to 8-4 Overall, 2-0 in Area Play

The Lady Wolverines Volleyball team had won six in a row before finally losing to two Alabama schools last Thursday, Pisgah and Scottsboro.  After the Labor Day break, the ladies showed energy in their home sweep yesterday of area opponent, Chattooga (2-0) and non-conference opponent, Ringgold in three sets (2-1).  The Lady Wolverines were able to avenge an earlier loss during the opening match of the season at Ringgold.

“It was a great night for us tonight, especially at home.  It was exciting to hear our home crowd cheer on the girls who worked hard for these two wins”, says head coach, Carrie Morris.  Tonight marked the first time in school history that Dade County has beaten Ringgold in volleyball.  The girls are gaining confidence and growing as a team each time they hit the floor.  It’s not about how you start, its how you finish.  Dade County is tied for first place in Area play (Chattooga/Morris Innovative).  They will travel to Coahulla Creek tomorrow to take on CCHS and Murray County before returning home next Tuesday for another tri-match which includes area opponent, Gordon Central, and Coahulla Creek HS.

Way to go Lady Wolverines!!!
