Multiple Teams · Lady Wolverine Softball Earns Opportunity to Host First Round Playoff Series

DSC_0261The 2016 edition of the Lady Wolverine Softball program finished the regular season strong, winning four in a row heading into the region tournament as the #2 seed.  After earning a first round bye, the Lady Wolverines defeated Armuchee for the third time this season by a score of 8-5.  In the winner’s bracket final, Rockmart again proved to be too strong for the Lady Wolverines defeating Dade County 10-6 in a hard fought game.  On Thursday, the Lady Wolverines were faced with the tough task of playing a possible three games to capture the Region 7AA Championship.  First, they had to face a talented Pepperell squad.  The Lady Wolverines used an eight-run third inning to defeat Pepperell by a score of 8-5.  Rockmart, the number two team in the state, powered their way past Dade to win the championship by a score of 13-1.  Finishing as the Region 7AA number two team, the Lady Wolverines will host three seed Temple, GA, from Region 5AA at home this Wednesday, October 12, at 4:00 and 6:00.  Come out and support the team as the Lady Wolverines are fighting to advance to the Sweet 16!
