The Lady Wolverines took on region opponent Coosa on Wednesday, August 26. Coming off of a tough region game on Tuesday night, the Lady Wolverines started off the game down 3-0 in the first. The bats immediately came alive to tie the game at 3 after one inning. Carri Pierce and Autumn Smith each had RBIs and runs scored in the first inning. Sydney Poston also scored a run and had a hit.
The Lady Wolverine bats continued from there, piling on more runs each inning. Dade won the contest in 5 innings.
The Lady wolverine offense was sparked by Carri Pierce’s go-ahead 3 run homerun in the 2nd inning. Pierce was 3-3 on the day with 5 RBIs, a double, and three runs scored. Sydney Poston did her job as a lead off and got on base four out of four times and scoring four runs. Haley Keesler chipped in with a hit and an RBI. Autumn Smith went 2-3 with four RBIs, a scored run, a stolen base, and a run scored. Molly Linder chipped in a RBI by getting hit by a pitch late in the game. Kaitlyn Booth contributed with a hit. Morgan Lacy had a hit and an RBI. Haley Bayer went 1-2 with two runs scored. Stephanie Hernandez went 1-2 with two runs scored. Maddie Martin recorded her first hit as a Lady Wolverine with an infield single.
The Lady Wolverines will travel to Model today to face the Lady Devils at 5PM.
